Such forecasts were voiced by Konstantin Nevzorov, President of the Association “Fat and Oil Union of Kazakhstan”, during the online conference “Asia Grains & Oils Conference: Online Edition” organized by APK-Inform.

The expert noted that along with the expansion of sown areas, the main driver of growth in the production of vegetable oils in Kazakhstan is also an increase in the average yield of oilseeds, which Kazakhstani farmers continue to work on. In this year this indicator is forecasted at the level of 10.5 c / ha (10.1 c / ha).

“Thanks to the improvement of the quality of agricultural technologies and agriculture, the presence of interested companies that are working on innovations, it is possible to increase the average yield of oilseeds in Kazakhstan to 15 c / ha by 2030. the development program of the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan “, – K. According to the Fat and Oil Union of Kazakhstan, in 2021 Kazakhstan can produce almost 570 thousand tons of vegetable oils (495 thousand tons in 2020). It is expected that the export of these products will exceed 170 thousand tons (145 thousand tons), while imports will drop to 80 thousand tons (105 thousand tons). Indicator of domestic consumption of vegetable oils in Kazakhstan in tg. it is forecasted at the level of 474 thousand tons (468 thousand tons).

As K. Nevzorov noted, the key factors for the successful development of the fat-and-oil industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan are a high share of vegetable oils imports, free capacities of oil refineries and agricultural land resources. In addition, the export potential of fat and oil products in the markets of Central Asia and China, as well as organic fat and oil products in European countries, has a great influence. The development factors of this segment also include the development of animal husbandry in Kazakhstan and an increase in world demand for fat-and-oil and protein foods in general.
