Leu-AGRO News Update on the Readiness for the Spring Sowing Campaign 2022 in the Russian Federation !!!

Growth of costs of production can vary from 12% to 23%.

This year the sowing can start earlier than usual due to the mild winter and early spring. The Ministry of Agriculture admits the expected arrival of early spring in the South and North Caucasus. Some regions have already started feeding winter crops. Due to increased domestic demand for mineral fertilizers, the government decided to temporarily ban the export of ammonium nitrate. Despite the policy of restraining fertilizer prices, this year the cost of spring sowing will rise in price compared to the last year. Agrarians note an increase in costs of all the means of production. The cost of spring sowing will increase significantly.

Market participants note that the cost of spring sowing (fuel, seeds, personnel costs) increases from 12% to 23% compared to the last year, depending on a crop. Thus, the increase in costs for barley will be plus 15% per 1 ha, for spring wheat and sunflower – 20%, for sugar beet – from 16% to 22%, depending on the region.

Winter is mild this year, the snow cover is still on the fields, at the same time the air temperature is already above zero. Fortunately, the condition of winter crops is satisfactory, their safety is 100%.

Many farmers are now focused on qualitative changes: the introduction of innovative agricultural technologies in their fields and increasing yields.

And everyone is waiting from the government to cancel export duties on the agricultural production.
