The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is working to stimulate the production of the flax.

“In 2020, the sown area under the flax increased by 5 thousand hectares and reached 53 thousand hectares,” –  said Dzhambulat Hautov, Deputy Minister of the Agriculture of the Russian Federation  He highlighted that the Ministry of the Agriculture is working to stimulate the export of the flax products. Light industry enterprises can compensate up to 25% of investments in the flax processing equipment. Producers can count on subsidies for every hectare of flax crops and for every ton of the fiber produced.

For the information: in 2019 Russia became the second among the exporters of flax seeds, occupying 26% of the market. Canada is in the first place with 32% of the market. The third place belongs to Kazakhstan.
