Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Agricultural Machinery Market in Russia !!!

Sales of agricultural machinery increased in Russia.

In 2020 the local agricultural machinery occupies 58% of the domestic market.

Over the past nine months, sales of agricultural machinery in Russia have grown by 38%, and its exports by 10%, the Rosspetsmash association reported. As a representative of the association told to Agroinvestor, sales volumes reached 96.5 billion rubles. At the same time, the output of agricultural machinery for the three quarters increased by 21% to 108 billion rubles, the positive dynamics of the production is recorded for a number of key items.

Thus, in nine months, 555 forage harvesters (+ 24%), 3.7 thousand harrows (+ 15%), 4.3 thousand seeders (+ 10%), 4.4 thousand grain harvesters (+15 %). There are several reasons for the production growth: “This is due to the high competitiveness of Russian agricultural machinery, a significant improvement in the technical characteristics and quality of domestic agricultural machines, which in some respects surpass their foreign counterparts, the expansion of the model range and nomenclature, better adaptation of equipment to work in various, including difficult, agro-climatic conditions,” – a representative of the association says. “In addition, the Russian equipment is highly cost-effective.”

State support for the industry has also become an important factor for the development of the industry, in particular, it effectively stimulates demand in the domestic market for the implementation of Resolution No. 1432. Due to the extension of this program, under which farmers can buy equipment at a discount, the growth of production and shipments of Russian agricultural machinery in 2020 continued. In addition, producers, along with farmers, continued to work in a crisis and the introduction of quarantine measures in the country. At the same time, agricultural producers received a good harvest, both last and this year, which allowed them to buy new machines on preferential terms, and producers were able to ensure the required volume of supply.

The export of agricultural machinery for nine months amounted to 10.9 billion rubles. Supplies to foreign partners of all-wheel drive Russian tractors increased by 34% (up to 353 units), cultivators and plows – by 27% (up to 122 units and 302 units, respectively), forage harvesters – by 4% (up to 82 units). In monetary terms, exports to the Czech Republic have tripled, to France – doubled, to the Netherlands – by 98%, to Bulgaria – by 37%, to Germany – by 33%, to Uzbekistan – by 9%. At the same time, the slowdown in the growth of export deliveries for the first nine months compared to January-July is due to the high base in August 2019.

As a representative of Rosspetsmash clarified: “The Russian agricultural machinery occupies 58% of the domestic market in 2020. The Association expects that further the dynamics of sales both in the domestic market and for export should not be worse than the last year, when the volume of supplies abroad exceeded 12 billion rubles and became a record one.
