Russian Agro-Industrial Complex will be helped by Digital Twins !!!

By 2024, digital twins will appear in the agro-industrial complex (AIC). These will be farm models with a full range of tools – from weather forecasting to selection of production capacity and staffing. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture is working on a number of other initiatives as part of a single project for the digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex.
Director of the Department of Digital Development and Management of State Information Resources of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Andrei Khorobrykh at the conference “Digitalization of the agro-industrial complex in an era of global changes: solutions and IT innovations” spoke about digital twins, information systems and other projects for digitalization of the agro-industrial complex.

“Now at the government level, Dmitry Chernyshenko, is undergoing a number of defense initiatives for the digitalization of industries, including ours. Digitalization of the agro-industrial complex is necessary and inevitable,” – Andrey Khorobrykh is sure. Current challenges among the global challenges are increasing production and increasing its efficiency, that is, reducing costs and simplifying business.”

Andrei Khorobrykh emphasized the need to improve the quality of agricultural products along the entire chain – from the field to the counter – in order to increase its competition in the domestic and global markets: “This task was set by the President. For this, we plan to create an information system for the traceability of grain and its processed products by 2024. It will control up to 90% of the market. The goal is ambitious, but it is seems real. ”

“Finally,” – Andrei Khorobrykh summed up, – a projective method of choosing state support measures will be implemented. We pay special attention to services that will make the life of farmers more convenient and comfortable. We hope that all processes will become manageable practically without a person, with a minimization of his role. I mean the full production cycle, including preparatory measures. By 2024, the proven technologies, in our opinion, can be offered not only in the Russian Federation, but also in the CIS countries. In this direction, we have already begun cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Dmitry Postelnik, Director of the Digital Economy Department of Synergy University, agrees: the active introduction of digital twin technologies in the Russian agro-industrial complex can significantly increase the efficiency of current activities and further development of both individual enterprises and the entire industry. “It is already possible to get acquainted with such experience at the leading foreign enterprises of the agro-industrial complex and adapt it for Russia,” – he believes. “However, the use of modern technologies will require a radical revision and change in the overwhelming number of existing processes and approaches that have been used in the industry for many centuries. implement a comprehensive program for digital transformation of the Russian agro-industrial complex. Within the framework of this program, it will be of great importance, among other things, to improve the qualifications and professional retraining of a large number of personnel working in the agro-industrial complex. In order for the Russian agro-industrial complex to be competitive in the global agricultural market, where tough global competition has developed, our enterprises will have to use the most modern agricultural production technologies, optimize costs, increase work efficiency, etc. The introduction of digital twin technologies will make a huge contribution to increasing the competitiveness of the Russian agro-industrial complex. At the same time, the implementation in practice of digital twin technologies requires significant investments in the industry, since modern equipment, software, and personnel training are needed.” In order for the Russian agro-industrial complex to be competitive in the global agricultural market, where tough global competition has developed, our enterprises will have to use the most modern agricultural production technologies, optimize costs, increase work efficiency, etc.
