More than 50 leading Russian agricultural producers have created a platform for the exchange of experience and promotion of initiatives in the field of digitalization of the agro – industrial complex of the country – Smart Farming Club (SFC).
“The main objectives of the club are to eliminate problem points in the digitalization of the Russian agro – industrial complex and to exchange the best practices for the formation of global trends in the processes of technological development of the agro – industrial complex,” – comments the Chairman of the SFC, Bjerne Drexler. – We expect that the work of such an expert platform, which unites both agricultural producers and suppliers of smart solutions for the agro-industrial complex, will accelerate the penetration of new digital solutions into agriculture and make it more efficient.”
At the time of creation of the SFC, more than 50 owners and top managers of large Russian agricultural holdings got interested in the digitalization of the business and now they are members of the SFC. Representatives of companies that develop solutions in the field of agricultural automation and the development of “smart farming” technologies also became members of the Club. According to the organizers, the total number of the club will exceed 1000 participants from Russia, CIS countries and other countries.
It is assumed that Smart Farming Club will become not only a platform for the exchange of experience. In the future, the club can develop standards and regulations in the field of digitalization and automation of the agro-industrial complex, as well as prepare proposals for the formation of a regulatory framework for regulation in this area.
Other promising areas of SFC can be used for an analytical and research activities, as well as advising market participants of the APC on issues of digitalization, both through specific technical solutions and other relevant projects involving large-scale introduction of IT solutions in business farmers.
“By now, many of the club’s member companies have got already relevant experience,” – Mr. Drexler emphasizes. – And we are not talking about the automation of standard business processes of enterprises, such as accounting or HR, but about the automation of the main agricultural activities of enterprises. For example, technologies for autonomous control of grain harvesting equipment.”
Smart Farming Club is an expert community of leaders of the agro-industrial complex, focused on the transformation of the agro-industrial complex in terms of technological progress. Currently, the number of participants in the SFC includes representatives of 53 companies working in the fields of agriculture and information technology from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok. The land fund of the Club’s resident enterprises exceeds 2.6 million hectares, and the annual revenue is more than 500 billion rubles.
