Volga Baikal AGRO News Update on the Energy Crisis Consequences !!!

The uncertainty of the development of the energy crisis leads to the fact that the Russian authorities still cannot determine the permitted volumes of grain export from the country. The size of the grain export quota for 2022 will be determined at the end of 2021, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said at a meeting of the president with the government.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation expects prices for socially important food products to stabilize, Dmitry Patrushev said: “In case of a significant increase in world prices, let’s say up to $ 400 per ton of wheat and more, the formula for calculating the floating export duty will be revised upwards,” – the minister said.

“As for other categories, the government introduced restraining duties on the export of sunflower, rapeseed and soybeans in 2021, as well as a damping duty on the export of sunflower oil. The measures taken allow us to maintain stable prices in this segment. At the same time, in case of trends of a sharp increase in sunflower prices within the country and world oil prices, the amount of the damping duty will be promptly revised upwards,” – the head of the Ministry of Agriculture promised.
