Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Grain Export from Russia !!!

Shipments of the Russian grain to the African countries are growing steadily.

About 45% of grain and products of its processing were shipped during 10 months of 2020 from the ports of the Krasnodar Territory to Africa.

One of the priority areas of grain exports in Russia is the African market. Shipments in this direction are constantly growing.

In 2020, Russian grain was shipped from the ports of the Black and Azov Seas up to 32 countries of the African continent.

So, for 10 months of 2020, 8.4 million tons of grain and products were shipped to African countries, or 44.7% of the total export volume from the ports of the Krasnodar Territory.

All this volume has passed the procedure for confirming compliance with safety and quality with the establishment of the quarantine phytosanitary state of regulated products by specialists of the Novorossiysk branch of the FSBI “Center for Grain Quality Assessment”.

The main importer of Russian grain is traditionally the Arab Republic of Egypt with a volume of 4.7 million tons, or 55.7% of the total volume of grain exports to Africa.

The next countries in the top four for grain imports from Russia are South Africa, Kenya and Morocco, which account for 15.1%.

The share of the remaining 28 African countries is 29.2% of grain exports to the continent.
