GREENHOUSE VEGETABLE PRODUCTION IN RUSSIA HAS INCREASED BY 6.5% SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2022
Since the beginning of 2022, the production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has increased by 6.5% compared to the indicator for the same period in 2021 and amounted to 157.3 thousand tons. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agriculture.
“The production of greenhouse vegetables in our country, which set another record last year, continues to grow. Since the beginning of 2022, it has increased by 6.5% compared to the same period a year earlier and amounted to 157.3 thousand tons,” – the report says.
In particular, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, 95.2 thousand tons of cucumbers (an increase of 6.1%) and 58.9 thousand tons of tomatoes (an increase of 6.6%) have already been collected in winter greenhouses.
According to the Ministry, the leaders among the regions in this direction are the Lipetsk, Moscow, Kaluga, Volgograd, Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Republics of Mordovia and Tatarstan.
As previously reported, in 2021, the production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia amounted to 1.4 million tons of vegetables.
