Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Russian Agriculture Development !!!
The Ministry of Agriculture expects the third result in the country’s history for grain harvesting which will completely cover domestic needs and, probably, Russia will remain the main exporter of wheat.
The great result was obtained thanks to advanced agricultural technologies, state support and, of course, the work of farmers.
Harvesting results:
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 28, 2021, more than 105 million tons of grain were harvested. Of these, wheat is the main export product – over 74 million tons. This is already more than previously predicted by the US Department of Agriculture, whose calculations have a significant impact on the global market. Western analysts predicted Russia’s wheat harvest at the level of 72.5 million tons, excluding Crimea.
At the end of September, the Ministry of Agriculture maintained its harvest estimate of 127.4 million tons of grain, including 81 million tons of wheat. This is the third result in the country’s history after those obtained in 2017 and 2020. And, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, it will allow to close domestic needs and maintain leadership in wheat on the world market.
Record-breaking crops:
The absolute record in Russia is likely to be shown by oilseeds. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates the new crop of oilseeds at 22.5 million tons against 21.2 million last year. It is planned to harvest about 14 million tons of sunflower – 700 thousand tons more than last year. This will make it possible to load processing enterprises and ensure a stable level of prices for final products.
