Volga Baikal AGRO News Update on the Russian Agriculture Seasonal Spring Field Work Progress !!!

According to the operational data of the governing bodies of the agro-industrial complex of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of May 20, 2021, the spring sowing is carried out on the area of 34.9 million hectares or 67.8% of the forecasted area.
Spring grain crops are sown on the area of 20.2 million hectares, or 69.1% of the forecasted area. Out of that, the spring wheat is sown on the area of 8.2 million hectares or 64.5% of the forecasted area, spring barley – 5.9 million hectares or 77% of the forecasted area, corn for grain – 2.3 million hectares or 83% of the forecasted area, rice – 116,1 thousand hectares or 60,5% of the forecasted area.
Sugar beet is sown on the area of 968.4 thousand hectares or 91.2% of the forecasted area.
Fiber flax is sown on the area of 23 thousand hectares or 47.9% of the forecasted area.
Sunflower is sown on the area of 6.8 million hectares or 79.1% of the forecasted area.
Spring rapeseeds are sown on the area of 925 thousand hectares or 74.6% of the forecasted area.
Soybeans are sown on the area of 1.2 million hectares, or 39% of the forecasted area.
Potatoes are planted on the area of 151.1 thousand hectares or 52% of the forecasted area.
Vegetables are planted on the area of 116.1 thousand hectares, or 61.1% of the forecasted area.
