Situation on the Russian Grain Market: March 15 – 19, 2021 (Week11)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of March 18, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 13 826 rubles/ton (-0,1 % within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 13 116 rubles/ton (-0,1 % within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 12 620 rubles/ton (-0,1% within a week), for feed barley – 11 822 rubles/ton (+0,4% within a week), for food rye – 9 897 rubles/ton (0 % within a week), for corn – 13 673 rubles/ton (-0,5% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for February&March), as of March 18, 2021, 40,5 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 25,6 % higher than in the same period of the last season (32,3 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 32,9 million tons (24,8 % higher than the same period of the 2019/2020 season), barley – 4,7 million tons (+49,5 %), corn – 2,6 million tons (+2,2 %).
As of March 18, 2021 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 272 USD/ton (-8 USD/ton within a week), barley – 245 USD/ton (-1 USD/ton within a week), corn – 264 USD/ton (no changes). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of March 19, 2021, the volume of the grain is 122,2 thousand tons.
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of March 19, 2021 amounted to 1 607,4 thousand tons in the amount of 19,172 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 802,4 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 684,6 thousand tons, wheat of the 5-class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
