Situation on the Russian Grain Market: September 20 – 24, 2021 (Week 38)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of September 22, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 14 528 rubles/ton (+1.5 % within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 13 739 rubles/ton (+1.5 % within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 12 903 rubles/ton (+1.1% within a week), for feed barley – 12 418 rubles/ton (+0.7% within a week), for food rye – 10 164 rubles/ton (+2.7 % within a week), for corn – 13 295 rubles/ton (+0,6% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for August&September), as of September 23, 2021: 9.9 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2021/2022 agricultural year, which is 22.4% lower than in the same period of the last season (12.7 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 8.4 million tons (19.2% lower than the same period of the 2020/2021 season), barley – 1.3 million tons (-32.9 %), corn – 0.1 million tons (-62.2 %).
As of September 23, 2021 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 304 USD/ton (-5 USD/ton within a week), barley – 264 USD/ton (no change), corn – 263 USD/ton (+3 USD/ton within a week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of September 24, 2021, the volume of the grain is 68.5 thousand tons for the amount of 707.0 million rubles..
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020 – 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of September 24, 2021 amounted to 1 613,8 thousand tons in the amount of 19 241 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 802,5 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 690,8 thousand tons, wheat of the 5-class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
