Situation on the Russian Grain Market: November 29 – December 03, 2021 (Week 48)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of December 01, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 15 200 rubles/ton (+0.7 % within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 14 374 rubles/ton (+0,7 % within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 13 704 rubles/ton (+0.1 % within a week), for feed barley – 13 297 rubles/ton (+1.3 % within a week), for food rye – 11 723 rubles/ton (+1.2 % within a week), for corn – 13 255 rubles/ton (-0,5 % within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for October, November & December), as of December 02, 2021: 18.7 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2021/2022 agricultural year, which is 25.5 % less than in the same period of the last season (25.1 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 15.7 million tons (25.1 % lower than the same period of the 2020/2021 season), barley – 2,0 million tons (-34,3 %), corn – 0.6 million tons (-20.3 %).
As of December 02, 2021 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 340 USD/ton (-5 USD/ton within 1 week), barley – 306 USD/ton (no change within 1 week), corn – 276 USD/ton (no change within 1 week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of December 03, 2021, the volume of the grain is 60.5 thousand tons for the amount of 620.2 million rubles.
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020 – 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of December 03, 2021 amounted to 1 621,7 thousand tons in the amount of 19 358 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 810,5 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 690,8 thousand tons, wheat of the 5-class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
