Situation on the Russian Grain Market: November 09 – 13, 2020 (Week 46)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of November 12, 2020, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 14,186 rubles/ton (+1.8% within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 12,997 rubles/ton (+0.7% within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 12,185 rubles/ton (+0.5% within a week), for feed barley – 10,642 rubles/ton (+0.4% within a week), for food rye – 10,207 rubles/ton (+1.6% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for September and October), as of November 12, 2020, 20.9 million tons of grain were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 8.4% higher than in the same period last season (19.3 million tons). The volume of wheat exports for the season amounted to 17.3 million tons (3.3% higher than the same period of the 2019/20 season), barley – 2.8 million tons (+65.9%), corn – 0.64 million tons (-11.3%).
As of November 12, 2020 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 255 USD/ton (+$2 USD/ton within a week), barley – 212 USD/ton (no change within a week), corn – $ 236. USA/ton (+$6 USD/ton within a week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of November 13, 2020 the volume of the grain is 186.1 thousand tons in the amount of 1 825.5 million rubles (excluding sold but not shipped grain -136.2 thousand tons). During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020, the total volume of exchange transactions as of November 12, 2020 amounted to 1,591. 6 thousand tons in the amount of 19,021 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat -791.1 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 684.6 thousand tons, wheat of the 5th class-92.1 thousand tons, barley – 23.9 thousand tons.
