Situation on the Russian Grain Market: February 24 – 26, 2021 (Week 8)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of February 25, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 14 095 rubles/ton (0% within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 13 364 rubles/ton (+0,1% within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 12 770 rubles/ton (+0,9% within a week), for feed barley – 11 769 rubles/ton (+1,7% within a week), for food rye – 10 008 rubles/ton (+0,7% within a week), for corn – 13 715 rubles/ton (-0,4% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for January&February), as of February 25, 2021, 38,3 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 30,1% higher than in the same period of the last season (29,4 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 31.8 million tons (30,4% higher than the same period of the 2019/20 season), barley – 4.2 million tons (+47,6%), corn – 1.9 million tons (-0.3%).
As of February 25, 2021 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 288 USD/ton (+9 USD/ton within a week), barley – 244 USD/ton (+1 USD/ton within a week), corn – 264 USD/ton (+1 USD/ton within a week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of February 26, 2021, the volume of the grain is 122,2 thousand tons.
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of February 26, 2021 amounted to 1 607,4 thousand tons in the amount of 19,172 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 802,4 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 684.6 thousand tons, wheat of the 5th class-92.1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
