Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Situation on the Russian Grain Market Development from 10 to 14 August 2020

Domestic Grain Prices Development:

According to the regional authorities of the agro-industrial complex, as of 08/13/2020, the average Russian prices for wheat of the 3rd class amounted to 12,221 rubles / ton (+ 0.2% per week), for wheat of the 4th class – 11,365 rubles / ton (-0.4% per week), for 5th grade wheat – 10 659 rubles / ton (+ 2.9% per week), for feed barley – 9 475 rubles / ton (+ 0.4% per week), for food rye – 10 306 rubles / ton (-0.9% per week).

Export Price and Volume Development:

According to the operational data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member states for July and August), as of 13.08.2020, in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, 4.6 million tons of grain were exported.

The volume of exports of wheat for the season amounted to 3.6 million tons, barley – 0.74 million tons, corn – 0.18 million tons.

As of 08/13/2020 FOB Novorossiysk Port Prices:

Russian wheat of the 4th class (protein 12.5) – USD 199 / ton (-7 USD / ton per week), for barley – USD 183 / ton (- USD 2 / tonne per week), for corn – USD 184 / tonne (no change per week).

The volume of grain from the Federal Intervention Fund as of 08/14/2020 is 295.0 thousand tons in the amount of 2,964.5 million rubles (excluding the sold but not shipped grain – 307.1 thousand tons).
