Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Situation on the Russian Grain Market Development from 3 to 7 August 2020
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to the regional authorities of the agro-industrial complex, as of 08/05/2020, the average Russian prices for wheat of the 3rd class amounted to 12,199 rubles / ton (+ 0.9% per week), for wheat of the 4th class – 11,407 rubles / ton (-0.1% per week), for wheat of the 5th class – 10 359 rubles / ton (-1.3% per week), for feed barley – 9 436 rubles / ton (-0.3% per week), for food rye – 10 395 rubles / ton (-8.1% per week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to the operational data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member states for July), grain crops were exported as of 06/08/2020 in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, 3.7 million tons.
The volume of exports of wheat for the season amounted to 2.8 million tons, barley – 0.71 million tons, corn – 0.18 million tons.
As of 08/06/2020 FOB Novorossiysk Port Prices:
Russian wheat of the 4th class (protein 12.5) – USD 206 / ton (-2 USD / ton per week)
Barley – USD 185 / ton (- USD 1 / tonne per week), for corn – USD 184 / tonne (no change per week).Source: wheat and barley prices – International Grains Council, corn prices – according to grain market experts.
The volume of grain from the Federal Intervention Fund as of 08/07/2020 is 295.1 thousand tons (excluding the sold but not shipped grain – 307.1 thousand tons).
