Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Situation on the Russian Grain Market Development as of October 09, 2020 !!!
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of 08.10.2020, the average Russian prices for class 3 wheat were 13,046 rubles/ton (+0.3% for the week), for class 4 wheat – 11,885 rubles/ton (+0.2% for the week), for class 5 wheat – 11,163 rubles/ton (+1.7% for the week), for feed barley – 9,923 rubles/ton (+1.1% for the week), for food rye – 10,056 rubles/ton (+3.7% for the week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal customs service of Russia (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for August and September), as of 08.10.2020, 15.0 million tons of grain were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 4.2% higher than in the same period last season (14.4 million tons). The volume of wheat exports for the season amounted to 12.5 million tons, barley – 2.2 million tons, corn – 0.3 million tons.
As of 08.10.2020 FOB Novorossiysk prices were:
for Russian wheat of class 4 (protein 12.5) – 243 US dollars/ton (+7 US dollars/ton for the week), for barley – 204 US dollars/ton (unchanged for the week), for corn – 197 US dollars/ton (+4 US dollars/ton for the week). Federal intervention Fund:
The volume of grain of the Federal intervention Fund as of October 09, 2020 is 262.1 thousand tons in the amount of 2,606. 8 million rubles (excluding sold but not shipped grain – 253.2 thousand tons). During the sale of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020, the total volume of exchange transactions as ofOctober 08, 2020 amounted to 1,492. 3 thousand tons in the amount of 17,782 million rubles, including wheat of the 3rd class – 743.4 thousand tons, wheat of the 4th class –
636.3 thousand tons, wheat of the 5th class – 92.1 thousand tons, barley – 20.5 thousand tons.
