Situation on the Russian Grain Market: February 14 – 18, 2022 (Week 7)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of February 16, 2022, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 15 172 rubles/ton (0% within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 14 499 rubles/ton (-0.1% within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 13 941 rubles/ton (-0.4% within a week), for feed barley – 13 759 rubles/ton (+0.3% within a week), for food rye – 12 108 rubles/ton (-1.3 % within a week), for corn – 13 635 rubles/ton (-0.3% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for January – February 2022), as of February 17, 2022: 27.4 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2021/2022 agricultural year, which is 28.4% less than in the same period of the last season (38.2 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 22.4 million tons (29.6% lower than the same period of the 2020/2021 season), barley – 2.9 million tons (-31.5%), corn – 1.7 million tons (-12.6 %).
As of February 17, 2022 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 315 USD/ton (-3 USD/ton within 1 week), barley – 297 USD/ton (-1 USD/ton within 1 week), corn – 284 USD/ton (+2 USD/ton within 1 week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of February 18, 2022, the volume of the grain is 60.5 thousand tons for the amount of 620.2 million rubles.
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020 – 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of February 18, 2022, amounted to 1 621,7 thousand tons in the amount of 19 358 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 810,5 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 690,8 thousand tons, wheat of the 5-class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
