Egypt can become a hub for the transportation of the Russian grain to African countries amid a food crisis in the region.

“Egypt could become a hub for delivering the grain from Russia to Egypt and then to the rest of the North Africa and the Middle East,”- mentioned Nurhana El-Sheikh, political science professor at Cairo University.

The expert noted that Russia is the most important supplier in the grain market, and no other country can replace Russia.

“Russia is a very important, critically important grain supplier, no one can replace Russia… In Egypt, we tried to cooperate with the UAE, Jordan, but we could not meet our grain needs. No one can replace supplies from Russia.” – she stressed.
