MOSCOW, August 3 – PRIME. Since the beginning of the year, Russian farmers have purchased 3.84 million tons of fertilizers, thereby fulfilling the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation by 77%, and compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 17%, according to the Russian Fertilizer Association (RAPU).
According to the data of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Russian farmers increased their purchases of mineral fertilizers by 17%, to 3.84 million tons (in terms of 100% of the active ingredient – d.v.), based on the results (first – ed.) of the seven months of 2022, compared to the same period last year. Thus, the volume of mineral fertilizers expected by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture in 2022, taking into account the balance of 2021, has already been purchased by 77%,” the association said in a statement.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, said in July that this year the volume of purchases of mineral fertilizers will amount to 5 million tons, with an application rate of 60 kilograms per hectare of farmland. The Minister also added that by 2030 the annual volume of purchases of mineral fertilizers in the country must be increased to 8 million tons.
“RAPU participants always and 100% fulfill the plan for deliveries to the agro-industrial complex. The existing production capacities in the industry are sufficient to meet both domestic demand and export revenue to the budget. Preparations are underway for autumn field work, in connection with which we draw attention regional authorities of the agro-industrial complex on the importance of controlling the purchases by farmers of the volumes announced earlier and already included by manufacturers in the plan for deliveries to the domestic market,” the President of the RAPU Andrey Guriev said in the message.
According to the estimates of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, by the end of this year, farmers plan to harvest 130 million tons of grain crops, 22.6 million oil crops, 41.5 million tons of sugar beets, 7 million tons of vegetables and potatoes, and 1.5 million tons of fruits and berries.
