At the moment, the issues of efficiency and intensification of production are coming to the fore, and digitalization is an important tool for reducing business costs. Today, the agricultural complex is already the largest consumer of digital solutions, while the potential for further development of this direction remains one of the highest among the branches of the Russian economy.
Today, all sub-branches of agriculture are already using new technological solutions, and in the future their demand will increase. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture encourages this direction with the help of preferential lending, and in the regions there are more and more direct state support measures for the introduction of innovations in the agro-industrial complex.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is actively working on the creation of a national digital agriculture platform, an important component of which will be the possibility of receiving state support in electronic form. For this purpose, a Super Service has already been developed, which will be put into operation next year. Its work will speed up and simplify the provision of subsidies to farmers, reduce the time for bringing budget funds and generally improve the efficiency of state support for agriculture.
Also, the Ministry of Agriculture continues to work on a complex of information systems, with the help of which it will be possible to automate a number of processes and improve the quality of forecasting in the sub-branches of the agro-industrial complex. In the coming years, a grain traceability system – “Seed Production”, as well as an information and analytical system of breeding resources will be added to the already existing Mercury system. As noted by Oksana Lut, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the creation of the latter will allow the use of modern methods for assessing the breeding value, as well as developing breeding programs aimed at increasing the genetic potential of livestock. The development of this system is planned in 2023-2024.
