Russian farmers have already harvested 51 million tons of new crop grain, including almost 44 million tons of wheat, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Agriculture.
“The harvesting campaign is approaching the equator. Now work is underway in 49 regions of the country. As of August 2, farmers have harvested 51 million tons of grain,” the report says.
According to the ministry, grain and leguminous crops have been threshed from an area of 11.9 million hectares. Including wheat harvested from 9.9 million hectares, 43.9 million tons were harvested. In addition, 5.2 million tons of barley were harvested.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this season, the average yield in the country has increased by a third compared to last year. The highest indicator for cereals as a whole is noted in the Kaliningrad region (61.9 centners per ha), wheat and barley – in the Krasnodar Territory (63.2 centners / ha and 68.3 centners / ha, respectively), rapeseed – in the Bryansk region ( 40 q/ha). The ministry added that farmers are fully provided with the necessary resources – agricultural machinery, affordable fertilizers, soft loans. Currently, the regions are actively preparing for the sowing of winter crops.
The forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture for the grain harvest in Russia in 2022 is 130 million tons.
