According to the results of 2022, the volume of the organic products market in Russia can exceed 14 billion rubles against 10-12 billion rubles in 2021.
This conclusion was made by the experts of Rosselkhozbank.
“In the coming years, the Russian market for organic products will continue to grow at an average rate of 10-12% per year, and its volume by the end of 2022 can reach more than 14 billion rubles. “organics”, – says Vyacheslav Fedyunin, head of the “Organics” fund of Rosselkhozbank, whose words are quoted in the message.
According to the Russian Agricultural Bank, the organic market in Russia is now at the very beginning of its development – the share of organic products in the domestic food market is about 0.1% with sales of 10-12 billion rubles. At the same time, a significant amount of “organics” is still provided by imports, due to the replacement of which the volume of production within the country can increase. The pandemic has already given impetus to the development of this segment – market growth has accelerated against the backdrop of increased demand. During the pandemic, organic sales in monetary terms increased by 15-18%. Taking into account inflation in real terms, the growth was about 10%, experts say.
As previously reported, the law “On Organic Products” came into force in Russia at the beginning of 2020. You can confirm the status of an organic producer by passing a voluntary certification. Such a producer falls into the corresponding unified state register maintained by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Organic products are considered environmentally friendly agricultural products, raw materials and food, in the production of which the use of agrochemicals, pesticides, antibiotics, growth and fattening stimulants, hormonal preparations is prohibited, with the exception of those that are allowed for use by the national, interstate and international standards in force in the Russian Federation in the field of organic production. Currently, in Russia, 104 enterprises in 54 regions are certified as producers of organic products. Their total product range exceeds 1 thousand units.
