Situation on the Russian Grain Market: October 04 – 08, 2021 (Week 40)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of October 06, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 14 865 rubles/ton (+1.4 % within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 14 102 rubles/ton (+0.7 % within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 13 236 rubles/ton (+0.5% within a week), for feed barley – 12 546 rubles/ton (+0.3% within a week), for food rye – 10 666 rubles/ton (+2.9 % within a week), for corn – 13 307 rubles/ton (-0,5% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for August, September, October), as of October 07, 2021: 11.4 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2021/2022 agricultural year, which is 25.1% less than in the same period of the last season (15.2 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 9.8 million tons (21.8% lower than the same period of the 2020/2021 season), barley – 1.4 million tons (-38.8 %), corn – 0.1 million tons (-63.4 %).
As of October 07, 2021 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 314 USD/ton (+7 USD/ton within a week), barley – 270 USD/ton (+4 USD/ton within a week), corn – 268 USD/ton (+5 USD/ton within a week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of October 08, 2021, the volume of the grain is 68.5 thousand tons for the amount of 707.0 million rubles.
During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal intervention Fund in 2020 – 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of October 08, 2021 amounted to 1 615,4 thousand tons in the amount of 19 264 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 804,1 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 690,8 thousand tons, wheat of the 5-class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 28,3 thousand tons.
