Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on the Food Production Situation in Russia !!!

At present, the domestic agro-industrial complex is a driver of the Russian economy and demonstrates high rates of development in all key areas. At the same time, the highest dynamics is observed in the segment of the food and processing industry.

According to Rosstat, in January-October 2020, the food production index was 104.3% compared to the same period last year, drinks – 101.9%, tobacco products – 103.3%. In particular, high growth rates are noted in the production of canned meat (+ 12.3%), processed and canned potatoes (+ 12.1%), meat (+ 11.4%), unrefined sunflower oil (+ 10%), meat and semi-finished meat products (+ 8.4%), cheeses (+ 5.8%).

Positive dynamics was achieved thanks to the systematic growth of the production of agricultural raw materials, an increase in supplies to foreign markets, improvement of state support measures, as well as the modernization of production. The high rates of development of the industry make it possible to fully provide the domestic market with basic food products and increase the export potential.
