Situation on the Russian Grain Market: November 02 – 06, 2020 (Week 45)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of 05.11.2020, the average Russian prices for class 3 wheat were 13,942 rubles/ton (+1.6% for the week), for class 4 wheat – 12,901 rubles/ton (+2.7% for the week), for class 5 wheat – 12,121 rubles/ton (+1.7% for the week), for feed barley – 10,595 rubles/ton (+0.6% for the week), for food rye – 10,051 rubles/ton (-2.2% for the week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for September and October), as of 05.11.2020, 19.8 million tons of grain were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 8.5% higher than in the same period last season (18.2 million tons). The volume of wheat exports for the season amounted to 16.4 million tons (3.4% higher than the same period of the 2019/20 season), barley – 2.7 million tons (+66.0%), corn – 0.6 million tons (-11.8%).
As of November 05, 2020 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For Russian wheat of class 4 (protein 12.5) – 253 us dollars/ton (-1 US dollars/ton per week), for barley – 212 US dollars/ton (-2 US dollars/ton per week), for corn – 230 US dollars/ton (-2 US dollars/ton per week). Federal Intervention Fund:
The volume of grain of the Federal intervention Fund as of 06.11.2020 is 224.5 thousand tons in the amount of 2,207. 3 million rubles (excluding sold but not shipped grain-157.1 thousand tons). During the implementation of grain from stocks of Federal intervention Fund in 2020, the total volume of stock exchange transactions as at 5 November 2020 was 1 570,7 thousand tons worth 18 754 million rubles, including wheat 3rd class – 770,9 thousand tons of wheat of the 4th class – 684,6 thousand tons, wheat of 5th class – 92,1 thousand tons, barley – 23,1 thousand tons.
