Situation on the Russian Grain Market: January 25 – 29, 2021 (Week 4)
Domestic Grain Prices Development:
According to regional agribusiness management bodies, as of Janury 28, 2021, the average Russian prices for the 3-class wheat were 14.361 rubles/ton (-0.6% within a week), for the 4-class wheat – 13.511 rubles/ton (+0.7% within a week), for the 5-class wheat – 12.805 rubles/ton (+0.6% within a week), for feed barley – 11.423 rubles/ton (+0.5% within a week), for food rye – 10.332 rubles/ton (-3,6% within a week), for corn – 13.046 rubles/ton (+1.3% within a week).
Export Price and Volume Development:
According to operational data of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (excluding data on mutual trade with the EAEU member States for December & January), as of Janury 28, 2021, 32,9 million tons of grain crops were exported in the current 2020/2021 agricultural year, which is 21.1% higher than in the same period of the last season (27,1 million tons). The volume of the wheat exports for the season amounted to 27,7 million tons (21.9% higher than the same period of the 2019/20 season), barley – 3.6 million tons (+36.8%), corn – 1.3 million tons (-19.6%).
As of January 28, 2020 FOB Novorossiysk prices:
For the Russian 4-class wheat (protein 12,5%) – 294 USD/ton (-7 USD/ton within a week), barley – 254 USD/ton (-2 USD/ton within a week), corn – 262 USD/ton (+2 USD/ton within a week). Federal Intervention Fund:
As of Janury 29, 2021, the volume of the grain is 138,9 thousand tons.During the sales of grain from the reserves of the Federal Intervention Fund in 2021, the total volume of exchange transactions as of Janury 29, 2021 amounted to 1 608,4 thousand tons in the amount of 19 225 million rubles, including the 3-class wheat – 803,3 thousand tons, the 4-class wheat – 684.6 thousand tons, wheat of the 5th class – 92.1 thousand tons, barley – 28.3 thousand tons.
