August results
In August Russia exported 5.6 million tons of grain – a record for monthly shipments, reports “Interfax” with reference to the analytical center of JSC “Rusagrotrans”.
The head of the center Igor Pavensky said that exports of wheat amounted to almost five million tons (4.9) of barley – 0.57 million tons, corn – 110 thousand tons. The previous record was set in November 2017, when exports reached 5.5 million tons, of which wheat – 4.8 million tons.
Purchasing prices for grain of the new harvest (wheat of the 4th class, protein 12.5%) in deep sea ports for the week increased by 400 rubles, to 13.9-14.2 thousand rubles (excluding VAT). At that, last year the price reached 11.6 thousand rubles per ton.
Pavensky also noted that the Russian domestic wheat market continues to grow in the south. It has strengthened in the center due to the demand of exporters; the situation in the Volga Region remained stable.
It should be reminded that Russia suspended grain export outside the UES until July 1. The decision was made to stabilize prices for grain, as well as to meet the country’s domestic needs in grain and products of its processing.
