Volga Baikal AGRO NEWS Update on Pre-Spring Seeding Campaign 2021 !!!
March… Cold, Snowy, Windy, and a Warming Sunny Approach !!!
It’s time for Pre-Spring Check Up, get everything ready for the fast-approaching spring seeding and planting campaign – 2021.
Today, Martin Leu, founder and CEO of Leu-AGRO Group Switzerland and Volga Baikal AGRO LLC., its subsidiary in the Russian Federation, is pleased to share his experience of the preparations for the seeding campaign:
First, you need to have a clear strategy and crop rotation plan ready to go. As of now, taking into consideration the unstable market situation, some companies consider on revising their cropping plans. As for the Farming Projects supported by our company’s management team, we will stay with our strategy and December 2020 approved cropping plans. We have assessed all the possible risks and believe that our strategic plan corresponds to the actual domestic and global situation what will allow us to get positive results in the agricultural year 2021 – 2022.
By this moment, the major volume of preparation work has been already done. The fields are prepared for our “No-Till-Farming-Approach” seeding and planting campaign 2021 to our usual standard. Fertilizers and application Equipment for Winter Crop Fertilizer application are ready to go as soon as fields let us travel on. Most Spring Cropping seeds from the Farms own production are cleaned, purchased seeds for spring crops are arriving as we write this update.
One of the main factors for success is high quality seeds. On Volga Baikal AGRO supported Farming Projects we give preference to well-known, tested, and previous grown domestic and international brands and varieties, what will guarantee the quality. “Higher Quality – Better Results”. We test new Varieties on a yearly base and deploy them as best fit in our future cropping plans.
All Farms have taken delivery of purchased mineral fertilizers and part of plant protection herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. It is especially important to stay ahead and be ready when you start needing some of these products!
And the last but not the least, the fleet of the agricultural machinery: all the equipment preparations are in the final stage with final deliveries of spare parts are taking place and will be finalized in the coming 20 days. Target readiness and finalizing of repairs is the 31 of March 2021.
