Last year, Russia supplied 79 million tons of agricultural products worth $ 30.7 billion to the world market, the Agroexport federal center said. And this is an absolute record for the entire recent history of the country. This is 20 percent more than in 2019. Last record was in 2018: $ 25.8 billion.

In 2020, Russia received record harvest of rapeseed, rye, rice and buckwheat. An almost record grain harvest has been grown, there is an increase in livestock and poultry, milk. The food industry showed an increase of 3.5%, the Ministry of Agriculture explained.

As a result, the domestic market was fully supplied with food, and the surplus was sent abroad. High prices on the world market have increased Russia’s export revenues. In addition, amid the pandemic, many countries decided to stock up on food and increased purchases.

The main buyer of our food is China, where 4.8 million tons were imported. Turkey ranks second. Top-3 is closed by Kazakhstan. A third of all deliveries are for grain. Deliveries of fat and oil products increased by 22%, meat – by 49%, dairy products – by 11%.
